Yep! I use Wacom’s Bamboo Pen tablet and Photoshop. As for suggestions.. I would go for a simple tablet to work with first, so that you can get used to it before you splash the cash on something more advanced. In terms of software, I do recommend Photoshop, since I find it the most versatile programme on the market but there are others such as Art Rage, Open Canvas, GIMP, Paint Tool SAI etc. There are plenty of free trials available online so you can test them and see which one is best for you.
